Tinubu, Soyinka, Opadokun Honored For Democracy Advocacy In Lagos

  • Civil society groups in Lagos honor Tinubu, Soyinka, Opadokun, and Oshun for democracy contributions, award private organizations for peace-building efforts.

EKO HOT BLOG reports thata coalition of civil society groups in Lagos State honored President Bola Tinubu, Prof. Wole Soyinka, former NADECO General Secretary Chief Ayo Opadokun, and NADECO chieftain Olawale Oshun for their contributions to the struggle for democracy in Nigeria.

EDITOR’S PICK

Organized by the Nigerian Human Rights Community (NHRC), the event drew over 800 attendees and was chaired by Seye Oyeleye, Director-General of the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN).

The coalition also recognized private organizations like Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Ltd. and Emirate Logistics Nigeria Ltd. for their efforts in peace-building, conflict prevention, and community empowerment, presenting them with awards.

Honored For Democracy

Chief Opadokun received his award in person, while a writer, Madam Lola Shoneyin, represented Prof Soyinka. Oshun’s award was accepted on his behalf by Babatunde Ogala (SAN).
