Ekohotblog reports that the House Committee on Local Government Administration, Chieftaincy, and Rural Development recently visited Ibeju-Lekki Local Government at the Secretariat in Igando Oloja.
During the meeting, the Committee Chairman, Hon. Sanni Okanlawon, praised the Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, for his innovative ideas, particularly the Keke Jaja Garbage Collection Tricycle, the first of its kind in the area.
He said, “This initiative shows how the Chairman is thinking outside the box.”
Hon. Okanlawon also commended the Chairman for constructing a modern administrative and legislative building and acknowledged his positive impact on the community.
Referring to the Chairman as an “all-rounder,” Hon. Okanlawon stated, “He has touched every area of life here, from education to tourism and environmental care.”
He encouraged Olowa to further promote tourism by partnering with local businesses to showcase Ibeju-Lekki’s culture. He pointed out that events like the Osun Osogbo festival attract tourists and generate income for the community.
Hon. Okanlawon also highlighted the importance of sports, saying, “Investing in sports can help discover great talents among our youth,” citing famous athletes like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as examples of success through sports.
At the conclusion of his speech, Hon. Okanlawon again praised the Chairman’s management of funds and commitment to good governance, urging the community, including leaders and royal fathers, to continue supporting Hon. Olowa in his efforts to develop Ibeju-Lekki.
The event gathered many prominent figures, including committee members, legislative representatives, community leaders, and royal fathers, all united in supporting the growth of Ibeju-Lekki.
