Nigerian immigrant voters have reacted to the process of the ongoing US presidential election.

Eko Hot Blog’s publisher, TJ Abass, who spoke with several voters at one of the polling centers in Houston, Texas, observed that turnout was high as early voting kicked off.

Many immigrants from Nigeria and other African countries, who spoke with EKO HOT BLOG, expressed their determination to make their voices heard in what they described as a crucial election.

In an interview, Mrs. Adeline Ohanaja, a Nigerian immigrant, she highlighted the importance of participating in the democratic process.

“The election means a lot to me as an African immigrant to vote.

I’ve encouraged my friends and family, including my kids, to vote because we need leadership in the White House that truly cares about us,” she said.

Dr Mrs. Glory Udo, who has lived in the United States for 43 years, also shared her perspective.

She said, “This election is one of the most consequential in the history of this country.

We want a nation that values immigrants like us, who have made significant contributions to the community.

I always vote because it’s my right, and I encourage others to do the same.”

Eko Hot Blog observed that voters found the process straightforward and efficient, with most spending less than 10 minutes casting their ballots.

With early voting continuing for the next 10 days, African immigrants in Houston are calling on their fellow citizens to participate and ensure their voices are heard in this defining election.

The election pits Kamala Harris, current Vice President and Democratic candidate, against former President Donald Trump.

Harris, known for her strong focus on social justice, healthcare reform, and climate change, appeals to a broad coalition of progressive voters, minorities, and women.

Many voters believe she represents a path forward with policies aimed at inclusion and economic equality.

Trump, on the other hand, remains a formidable contender, drawing strong support from conservative voters and those who favor his tough stance on immigration, economic deregulation, and national security.

His supporters view him as a leader who prioritizes America’s strength and economic independence, despite the controversies surrounding his previous administration.
