Ghanaian Referee Charles Bulu collapsed as he was taking charge of the AFCON qualifying match between Cote d’Ivoire and Ethiopia in Abidjan.
Referee Charles, as shown on the social media, started feeling dizzy and collapsed despite the effort of both the Ivorian and Ethiopian players to get him to the medical team.
He was taken to the hospital for treatment in a stretcher after he was given first aid to resuscitate him.
This happened in the 80th minute and the score was 3-1, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.
The match couldn’t continue as the fourth official, who was suppose to take over, happened to be an Ivorian which made him ineligible.
Fortunately, the two teams qualified for the AFCON, therefore the match was abandoned.
The Ghanaian was assigned as referee as the match official who was to officiate the match tested positive for Covid 19.
