How Manchester United Can Appeal Casemiro’s Red Card
  • Manchester United’s top rated midfielder, Carlos Henrique Casemiro might be out of the woods sooner than you think.

  • The Brazilian received a straight red after being adjudged for violent conduct against a Crystal Palace player.

  • New footage however, reveals it might not be a violent conduct in the first place as criticism meets the VAR technology.

EKO HOT BLOG reports on Manchester United midfielder, Casemiro being sent off in a match against Crystal Palace on Saturday, February 5th, for alleged violent conduct.

The incident occurred in the 66th minute of the game after a scuffle between both teams. The altercation between Casemiro and Palace midfielder, Will Hughes, was specifically targeted and resulted in a red card being shown to the Manchester United player.

However, new footage recorded by a fan has been circulating on social media that appears to show the situation in a different light, leading many fans to believe the red card should be overturned.

The video, which is not recorded in slow motion, appears to show that Casemiro’s actions were not as violent as initially thought. Some fans have commented that the midfielder was simply trying to hold Hughes back from further involvement in the scuffle.

The suspension means that Casemiro will be out for Manchester United’s upcoming league games against Leeds and Leicester, but will be eligible to play in the Carabao Cup Final and the Europa League match against Barcelona.

Manchester United is yet to make a decision on whether or not to appeal the red card, as a failed appeal could result in a four-game ban, ruling Casemiro out of the Carabao Cup Final.
