How Pantami, Muslim Leaders Plotted To Annihilate Christians In Northern Nigeria

  • “The Muslim Ummah in Jos have solemnly resolved to fight the governor” – Pantami

When it rains it pours, document detailing how Nigeria communications and digital minister Isa Pantami and Muslim leaders of northern extraction conspired to violently wipe away Christians from northern parts of Nigeria has surfaced.

The document surfaced amid strident and continuous call for Pantami’s dismissal or resignation over his incendiary and truculent preachings in the 2000s where he publicly espoused the creeds and beliefs of terrorist groups like Al Qaeda and Taliban, a revelation many now believe has rendered his position as high-ranking cabinet member in charge of sensitive ministry untenable.

In the new document, Pantami chaired a July 13, 2010, meeting of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), a foremost northern Islamic body led by Sultan of Sokoto Sa’ad Abubakar, where it was agreed that Christianity should not be allowed to garner any sort of ecumenical momentum and public acceptance in the north.

To achieve this, Pantami and other Muslim leaders resolved that christians should be banned from building churches in the city centre across the North and only build churches in the hinterlands and countrysides far from the cities.

They also agreed that evangelism and propagation of Christianity should be prohibited and any attempt by Christians to flout the measure should be met with brute force and violence, noting that such antagonism would mean fighting Islam.

“They should know that we have more control of the masses and the youth,” Pantami and other Muslim leaders resolved during the meeting held at Bauchi Central Mosque. “Any attempt by the Christians to disobey or revolt against the decision shall mean fighting against the religion of Allah which the followers of Allah shall not watch but we shall violently wipe away the Christians in these states.”

The Muslim leaders also made known their grouse about Christians in Plateau and Kaduna and disclosed their plans to forment trouble and crisis by co-opting Muslims in the security agencies as allies, they added that Muslim faithfuls in Jos had agreed to make the Plateau ungovernable.

“The Muslim Ummah in Jos have solemnly resolved to fight the governor, his government and the entire Christians in any way possible. They shall never support this government and they will destroy any development that shall come to Plateau, even the existing ones.

“Again, they are ready for Jihad in the state as we have presently secured the needed arms. Over 3,000 foreign arms have now entered Jos and we will not vote during the governorship election,” Pantami said in a communique seen by Ekohotblog

Pantami and his co-anarchists also concluded that they “shall use our men who are in the military to help us bring arms and ammunition into Kaduna.”
