EDITOR’S PICKS

The incident happened around Mobil Junction on Murtala Mohammed Way in Calabar, Cross River. Although the soldiers are yet to be identified, the attack led to her bleeding from the eyes and she was left with no care

As a result of the attack, the highway was temporarily shut as it led to a face-off between the police and the army.

According to the account, the female police who was directing traffic at the junction stopped a black Toyota Corolla with Lagos registration number AGL 175 HA which belonged to the army officers.

That was the genesis of the trouble that led to the assault, as the army officer rained heavy punches on the female police officer. Another female police officer who was recording the scene was also assaulted by a female soldier who got angry.

The army officers who were not in uniform fled after the incident.
