Hulk Marries Ex-Wife’s Niece in Lavish Ceremony Amid Family Backlash

Former Brazil international Hulk married Camila Angelo, his ex-wife’s niece, in a religious ceremony on Friday in his hometown of Campina Grande.
The couple had previously formalized their union in a civil ceremony in 2020.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Hulk shared his joy on Instagram, writing, “Before God and the promises of our love, we unite in one heart, beginning our eternity together, life! I love you.”

The wedding took place at the Diocesan Cathedral of Our Lady of the Conception, adorned with white roses. Hulk wore a wine-colored suit and was escorted by his mother, while Camila, in an embroidered dress and veil designed by Samuel Cirnansck, walked down the aisle with her father. The ceremony featured music from Damares’ “Sabor de Mel” and Bruna Karla’s “Que Bom Você Chegou.”
A grand reception is scheduled for January 7 at a luxury resort in João Pessoa, with 500 professionals contributing to the event.
Hulk was previously married to Iran Angelo, Camila’s aunt, for 12 years. The marriage, which ended in 2019, produced three children: Ian, Tiago, and Alice.
Hulk and Camila’s relationship, which began in late 2019, drew criticism from Camila’s family, with Iran’s sister Rayssa condemning the union as a betrayal of their family.
“Today is a hard day to swallow, a day that reveals how far betrayal can go when it comes from the people we least expect. If my mother were alive, I am sure she would not be able to bear such monstrosity.”
She continued, “Seeing a granddaughter, who grew up under her roof, betray her own family in such a cruel way would be an impossible blow to overcome. It is sad to realize that Judas is not only in ancient stories, sometimes he sleeps under the same roof, eats at the same table and, at the right moment, stabs himself in the back.”
The couple married in 2020 and have since welcomed two daughters, Zaya in 2021 and Aisha in 2023.

On the field, Hulk has enjoyed a successful football career, scoring 11 goals in 49 appearances for Brazil, including being part of the team that won the 2013 Confederations Cup.
At the club level, he achieved success with Porto, Zenit St. Petersburg, and Shanghai SIPG before joining Atlético Mineiro.
Despite the controversy surrounding his personal life, Hulk continues to make headlines both on and off the pitch.
