Human Trafficking: Immigration Service Rescues Seven Girls

The Nigeria Immigration Service Airport Command has rescued seven girls who were being trafficked to three countries.

The NIS discovered them at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, as they were about to depart for Dubai and Egypt.

Four of the girls were to fly to Cairo, while the other three were scheduled to arrive Dubai.

The NIS spokesman, Sunday James on Monday, assured Nigerians that the Muhammad Babandede-led NIS would not relent as it seeks to keep Nigerians safe.

He said, “The Comptroller in charge of the Airport Command of NIS, Usman Abdullahi was commended alongside his dutiful officers and enjoined not to relent as the activities of human traffickers and smugglers must be discouraged and halted through aggressive intelligence -gathering and proactive operations and surveillance.”

This interception comes few days after nine victims were rescued from being trafficked to Lebanon, Dubai, Cairo and India.
