In a deeply emotional Instagram post, Adanma shared how her grief spiraled into depression and led her to contemplate suicide after the loss. She described this period as a “very dark” time in her life, worsened by harsh criticism on social media.
The weight of the tragedy was so overwhelming that she was forced to stop breastfeeding her three-month-old baby, adding to her emotional strain.

Despite the darkness, Adanma found support from movie producer Uche Nancy, who helped her through the ordeal. Recalling their conversation, Adanma expressed her gratitude for Uche’s comforting words.
She wrote, “With so many tears, after facing pressure and expenses in April, I reached out to this beautiful soul @uchenancy. She said, ‘Ada, don’t worry, I’m here for you. Just let me know if there’s more I can do, and I won’t abandon you.’ She spoke as if she were me, reminding me why I should stay alive and strong. It lifted my soul, especially when I was contemplating suicide and feeling like I just wanted to exit this world. It was indeed a very dark time for me.”
Adanma also reflected on the toll of social media, where her phone, while offering some connection, became a source of pain due to the hurtful comments she received from both family members of the deceased and online followers.
