I Am Being Threatened For My Opinion — Ohanaeze Youth President

  • Ohanaeze Youth President, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike raises alarm over threats to his life.

  • He states that this comes after he congratulated the President-elect, Bola Tinubu.

  • Mazi Nnabuike stresses that the DSS have been used to cajole him ever since.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the National President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, has raised an alarm over threats to his life following his congratulatory message to the President-elect, Bola Tinubu. Okwu, in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Saturday, said he had come under severe threat after congratulating Tinubu.

In the statement, Okwu urged aggrieved parties to allow the court to decide the matter one way or the other, saying that the election time was over and the process of governance had begun.

However, some persons who are annoyed that he congratulated the President-elect have sent machinery in motion to take him out of the way, he alleged.

“They are employing every means, including using the DSS and other security agencies to make sure that I am cajoled and silenced. What is wrong that I congratulated the President-elect? Is Ohanaeze now a political party? There are Igbo people in APC, PDP, and LP; and we are serving the interest of the entire Igbo regardless of their political affiliations,” he said.

He continued by saying that Bola Tinubu is the President-elect, and he will be inaugurated on May 29. The aggrieved parties are in court, and until the petitions are decided, he said that everyone has to support Tinubu to move the country forward.

Okwu said he remains unshaken and will never yield to the intimidation of some selfish persons who do not mean well for Ndigbo. He, however, stated that he is putting the entire nation on notice that should anything happen to him, the sources of the attacks are known, and security agencies should not allow themselves to be dragged into this.

The statement has caused concern among Nigerians who fear for Okwu’s safety, with some calling on the government to provide him with adequate security.
