I Am Not Pulling The Strings In Rivers State Affairs – Fubara
Eko Hot Blog reports that Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has vowed to provide exemplary leadership, focusing on stewardship rather than the pursuit of absolute control over the state.
Fubara assured that he would govern with humility and a sense of duty, not with an obsession for power.
He emphasized, “For us, by the special grace of God, He has placed us, today, to watch over the affairs, not to control, but watch over the affairs of this State. I am not controlling, but watching the affairs and I will watch through the fear of God.”
The governor’s remarks were part of a statement issued by Nelson Chukwudi, his Chief Press Secretary, and shared with newsmen. Fubara pledged to manage the state’s affairs with integrity and accountability, understanding that his tenure is temporary and he will eventually be accountable for his actions.
“So, I will watch with the fear of God, and I will make every one of you proud. I will make a difference in leadership, and that difference will be to give everybody the opportunity to be free in this State,” he added.

Fubara also thanked the church for its continuous prayers, attributing his administration’s resilience and progress to divine support. He asserted that no human force could thwart God’s purpose, noting that even the most powerful individuals are subject to God’s will.
“No man is more powerful than God. And even the heart of that wicked and heartless man or whatever you want to call it, is even in the palm of God’s hand,” he said. “It’s like water that God turns in directions He wants. So, it’s only God that will continue to help us. And I know that He will lead us to a successful end.”
The governor expressed gratitude for the prayers and support from the congregation, acknowledging that their faith had been instrumental in his administration’s ability to stand firm despite numerous challenges.
“We are only standing because of your prayers. What we have gone through in this State, no previous government had gone through it. But it is only God that has made us still standing. Not just standing, but standing in the strength of God.”
Fubara highlighted the significance of dedicating children to God, emphasizing that starting a child’s life with divine guidance is crucial for their development into responsible adults.
“So, we are here to join everyone to make the promise that we will continue to pray for this baby. We will physically support the upbringing of this child in the fear of God and the understanding of the workings of God in the lives of everyone.”
The governor pledged N100 million on behalf of the state government to support the church, urging continued prayers for his administration to ensure the state’s liberation and progress.
General Christopher Gwabin Musa, Chief of Defence Staff, also spoke at the event, commending Fubara’s commitment to the state and reaffirming the military’s dedication to national security.
Zilly Aggrey, General Overseer of the Royal House of Grace International Church, praised the governor’s accomplishments, attributing his success to divine favor and urging detractors to recognize the governor’s positive impact within a short period.
