EKO HOT BLOG reports that Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has vehemently denied any allegations of corruption or misappropriation of funds during his tenure as governor since 2015.
In a recent media chat, El-Rufai stated that he has not acquired any new properties since assuming office, and still resides in the same house he built prior to becoming governor.

To prove his innocence, he boldly challenged his predecessors to come forward and prove that they did not engage in embezzlement while in office, suggesting that some of them used stolen funds to build extravagant mansions in Kaduna and Dubai.
El-Rufai further expressed pride in the quality of the infrastructural projects his administration has undertaken, assuring the public that these developments will endure for many years.
He emphasized that every penny allocated to the state has been utilized for the benefit of the people, with no personal enrichment or illicit purchases.
The governor conveyed his commitment to transparency and accountability, vowing that he and his administration did not divert public funds to buy luxury properties or engage in corrupt practices.
Highlighting his personal integrity, El-Rufai declared that he became governor with only one house and had not constructed any lavish mansions, as he had no need for them.
He challenged his predecessors to take a similar oath using the Holy Qur’an, swearing in front of the people of Kaduna State that they did not steal from the state’s resources during their tenure.
The governor called upon his fellow former leaders to provide an account of their actions, questioning the source of their wealth and pointing out that leadership is a sacred responsibility entrusted by God, necessitating ultimate accountability. ‘
