‘I Can Marry At Anytime For The Sake Of Companionship’ – Ebenezer Obey

– Ebenezer Obey has said if he has to marry it will be for the sake of companionship not just for marriage sake

– The Nigerian music legend disclosed this in an interview with The Nation

– He added that marriage for him at this age is not with a young lady but with his peers, stressing that young ladies should be left for their peers 

Nigerian music legend, Ebenezer Obey, known as “Chief Commander” has said he is set to remarry at anytime, stressing that the companionship of a wife is a good thing.

The MFR national award holder disclosed this during an interview with The Nation.

Chief Commander, however said getting married for him is not because he needs a wife that would conceive babies, stating that God has already blessed him with everything.

“I can marry at any time, not just for the sake of marriage, but for the sake of companionship. What else do I want? I have children, grandchildren and even great-grandchildren

“It is not like I am looking for a wife that would conceive babies. As long as I still have life, you will hear when the time for marriage comes,” he said.

When Asked on plans to remarry and if it would be a young lady, he quipped: “Marry a young lady?”

The Juju Singer said “It’s a foolish old man that will say he wants to marry a young lady. The young lady has just started her life and definitely is virile and strong.”

Obey added that “someone like me should be thinking of a woman who is 60 or above. And when I do it soon, everyone will know.”

Ebenezer Remilekun Aremu Olasupo Obey-Fabiyi was born on April 3, 1942.
