Speaking on the Glass House podcast with comedian AY, Iyabo Ojo revealed she was also accused of using Mohbad’s death to gain attention, despite her genuine efforts to seek justice for the deceased artist.
“They were even insinuating that maybe I killed Mohbad. I wasn’t around when Mohbad died. I was not close to him. I didn’t really know him that much,” she said.
Recounting her limited interaction with the singer, the actress explained that she only met Mohbad briefly during the One Africa Music Fest. “For the few days we were together, I saw he was a cool guy dealing with his challenges and focused on his music,” she added.
Iyabo Ojo dismissed the claims, questioning why she would fight for an autopsy and justice if she had any involvement in his death.
“There was a time they said I was paid [for my activism in seeking justice]. They also said I was looking for a political position or chasing clout. So many things have been said about me, but I am not bothered because they are not true,” she stated firmly.
The actress reiterated her sole intention was to help ensure justice for the late singer, despite the unfounded allegations against her.
