I Joined PDP To Work With Peter Obi, Rhodes-Vivour- Banky W Says

Eko Hot Blog reports that in the wake of the tribunal judgment that has ordered for a rerun of House Of Reps election in 40 Polling Units in the Eti Osa Federal Constituency, Nigerian music superstar, and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flag bearer, Bankole Wellington popularly known as ‘Banky W’, has revealed that former Anambra Governor, Peter Gregory Obi was the reason why he joined the former ruling party in the first place.

Speaking during an interview on News Central TV on Monday, September 18, Wellington lamented that he was looking forward to work with Obi and Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour (GRV) when he joined the PDP, but unfortunately, both men decamped to the Labour Party shortly after he joined.

He said; “What people may not realize is that prior to me even coming into the PDP is that the some of the persons I wanted to work with were Peter Obi and GRV. Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour is a very good friend, and I can even say he is a brother of mine. But politics is still politics. When things played out the way it did, and I had to fight tooth-and-nail to hold my ticket, thinking that GRV and Peter Obi, these are the people I came into the PDP to work with.

But upon winning my own primaries, I think they saw the writing on the wall, and based on their own calculations, they felt that they might not be successful in tbe primaries that they signed up for. And because of that, they withdrew at the last minute, and they left.”
