Looking back at his playing days, former Chelsea midfielder, Emmanuel Petit, has stated his regrets at embracing Chelsea over Manchester United.
After his first stint with Arsenal (from 1997-2000) in which he won the League and FA Cup in 1998), Petit came back a year after leaving Arsenal, playing for Chelsea between 2001 and 2004.
Speaking with Paddy Power Pitch Invader magazine, Petit, who didn’t hide his unhappiness at Barcelona, said he received calls from the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson but chose Chelsea instead, a move he said he regrets.
“Well, Alex Ferguson called me twice, Arsene Wenger came to see me, as did Claudio Ranieri, who I invited into my home and ended up signing for Chelsea.
“I should have listened to the voice in my head telling me to go to Manchester United. It would have been a dream playing alongside those players,” he stated.
