EKO HOT BLOG reports that Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has mocked the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar, and other leaders of the party over the protest at the national headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
This online media platform earlier reported that the PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, and the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, had led protesters to INEC’s office to protest the outcome of the presidential election won by Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The protesters, who were dressed in black, started their protest from PDP National Headquarters, Legacy House, around 10 am, which led to heavy traffic congestion around the Maitama axis.
Speaking at the commissioning of Chokocho-Igbodo Road in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State, Wike said while others are protesting he is busy commissioning projects and making Rivers residents happy.
He said: ”While other people are demonstrating, I am commissioning projects. I have not gone to do demonstration; my own is to commission projects and make my people happy.”
Wike said he warned the leadership of the party over its insistence that northerners hold onto the presidential ticket and national chairmanship seat of the party.
He also commended the people for voting for a southern President in the just-concluded elections, saying that he owes nobody any apology for supporting a Southern candidate.
