It might look all rosy today but comedian, Basketmouth, has revealed a time in the past when he didn’t even have money to rent cameras for the sitcom, My Flatmates.
Produced along with Kayode Peters, the brain behind rested Twilight Zone which gave the likes of Denrele, Yaw among others the platform for the fame they enjoy today, Basketmouth said they didn’t have money to pay for either cameras, locations or even set.
In an Instagram post on yesterday, the frontline humour merchant, while celebrating the landmark 565th episode of the show now airing on Africa Magic, went back memory lane.
“The idea was conceived 15 years ago… @kayodepeters1 and I couldn’t afford to pay for a location, set or even a proper camera, but we pulled it off with what we had.
“My little flat at Iponri Estate became the set, KP pulled in all the favors so we got the cameras for close to nothing,” he wrote about the show dwelling on four friends who share an apartment.
