Many Nigerians are not happy with Yakubu Aiyegbeni to date over his crucial goal miss at the 2010 FIFA world cup.

The Super Eagles had found themselves in a must win scenario in the final group game against their Asian counterparts, and with the team trailing the South Koreans 1-2 in the second half, Yakubu Aiyegbeni blew an open goal at point blank range after incredible work down the left flank by Kalu Uche and Yussuf Ayila.

Aiyegbeni later scored a penalty kick minutes later to level the scoreline at 2-2, but more than ten years down the line, Nigerians are yet to forget this incredible miss which ranks as the worst miss in the history of the FIFA World Cup.

While speaking with the Nation TV recently, the former Everton and Portsmouth forward said he won’t apologize to Nigerians over that goal he missed at the 2010 world cup because it wasn’t a deliberate action,  EKO HOT BLOG  gathered.

“I cannot apologize because it wasn’t a deliberate miss, I seriously wanted to score. But it wasn’t to be, so many strikers has missed chances, and nobody will apologize, so I won’t.
