A Saudi Arabian club chief has laid on football great, Lionel Messi, the greatest jab anyone could throw at him.

According to the owner of Al-Tai FC, he wouldn’t want to sign a player that doesn’t show up on the pitch, dissing Messi’s performance against Bayern Munich.
-
Messi played the game that saw his team, Paris Saint-Germain defeated in the Champions League.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Chief of Saudi Arabian club Al-Tai FC, Turki Al-Dhabaan, has made a controversial statement about Paris Saint-Germain’s Lionel Messi, saying he would never sign a player like the superstar for his team. Al-Dhabaan criticized Messi’s recent performances, claiming that his contribution to PSG has dropped.
Messi was on the pitch when PSG was defeated by Bayern Munich home and away, leading to their elimination from the Champions League in the round of sixteen. Meanwhile, Al-Nassr, Al-Tai’s Saudi Pro League rivals, had signed Cristiano Ronaldo on a free transfer in December 2022.

Despite reports that Al-Hilal, another SPL side, is keen to sign Messi this summer after his contract with PSG ends, Al-Dhabaan is not interested in signing players just for the sake of it. Instead, he mocked Messi’s underwhelming performances against Bayern Munich to drive his point home.
“I do not want to sign a world-class player in my team who is saturated and watches the match from the stadium like Messi in front of Bayern Munich,” Al-Dhabaan said in an interview with the Saudi Arabian television channel SBC.
Messi joined PSG in August 2021 on a two-year deal with an option to extend for a third year. He has played a vital role in the team’s domestic success, helping them win the Coupe de France, Trophee des Champions, and the Ligue 1 title.
However, PSG’s elimination from the Champions League has been a massive disappointment for the club and its fans.
Al-Tai FC is a relatively new club in the Saudi Pro League, having been founded in 2017. Despite this, they have already established themselves as a competitive team, finishing fifth in the SPL table in the 2021-22 season.
