Ibadan Residents Grumble Over COVID-19 Lockdown
Residents of Ibadan the capital of Oyo State have expressed the inconveniences experienced from the partial lock-down imposed on the state by the state government to curb the fast-spreading novel coronavirus ravaging the world
Recall this online news platform on March 28th reported that the Oyo state government imposed a dusk to dawn curfew on the state and limited gatherings to not more than 10 persons.
Despite the state is not on total lockdown like states with high numbers of COVID-19 cases, some residents of the state have been expressing dissatisfaction and annoyance over the curfew, especially those that run bars and hospitality businesses

Their dissatisfaction is premised on grounds that they were not put into consideration when the curfew law was made as their business opens when the curfew starts which is almost paralysing their businesses and making them run into a loss
In a sober voice, a bar owner said ” we were not put into consideration when the curfew was implemented, if people selling in the market are allowed to sell, then they should make an adjustment for us too”
When asked their expectations from the state government if there a need for total lockdown in the fight against coronavirus, they said things have not been easy even before coronavirus came into the country.
They urged the government to provide basic existential needs for the people so they won’t rebel against the government even if they mean well for the people of the state.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control at 11:15 am today confirmed 224 cases, 27 discharged patient, and 5 deaths from COVID-19
9 cases were confirmed in Oyo state.
