EKO HOT BLOG notes that speaking at the 2025 Annual Inter-faith Service for state workers in Ibadan, Governor Makinde stressed the importance of accountability, stating, “Even if nobody is held accountable elsewhere, in Oyo State, the rule of law will prevail.”
Makinde assured that while he respects the judicial process, including the granting of bail, the suspects must face trial to ensure justice for the victims and their families. He dismissed comparisons to similar unprosecuted incidents in other states, asserting, “Oyo State is not Anambra State. Justice must be done.”
