Ekohotblog reports that Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, Chairman of Ibeju Lekki Local Government, welcomed the Diocesan of Lagos Mainland, Rt. Rev. Dr. Ifedola Senasu Gabriel Okupevi, FICAT, during a courtesy visit to the Council Secretariat in Igando-Oloja on September 12, 2024.
The visit aimed to strengthen the relationship between the Church and the Local Government, and was marked by mutual respect and goodwill.

Rt. Rev. Okupevi was accompanied by senior clergy members, including The Very Dr. Rev’d Adebola Ojofeitimi, Ven. John Agboro, Ven. Dr. Williams Mehisan, Ven. Folorunso OreOluwa Agbelusi, Rev’d Dr. Segun Olufadeju, Rev’d Adeleke Ikuomonisan, and Rev’d Michael Nwigani.
During the meeting, Rt. Rev. Okupevi praised Hon. Olowa for his efforts in creating jobs and reducing unemployment in the local government area. He also urged the chairman to focus more on addressing youth idleness, which remains a challenge in the community.
The Diocesan extended an invitation to Hon. Olowa for a Diocesan prayer walk scheduled for October 1, 2024, at Centenary City. The event, themed “Pray for Full Restoration for Nigeria and Nigerians,” aims to unite leaders and citizens in prayer for the nation’s future.
In response, Hon. Olowa expressed his gratitude for the visit and highlighted his administration’s achievements, particularly in economic growth, social and security development, infrastructural improvements, and environmental sustainability. He reaffirmed his commitment to implementing policies that improve the lives of residents.
