Ekohotblog reports that today, the Executive Chairman of Ibeju Lekki Local Government Area, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, visited Okegun-Elerangbe, accompanied by the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Adewale Adebanjo, to assess the flood-affected areas within the community.
The visit was in response to the growing concerns of residents who have been dealing with significant flooding issues.
Upon inspection, it was noted that the flooding was largely due to human activities, which had caused blockages that obstructed the natural flow of water.
Sympathizing with the affected community members, Hon. Olowa assured them that the government is fully aware of the situation and is committed to providing timely intervention.
“We recognize the hardship this flooding has caused, and I want to assure you that the government will act promptly to address the issue,” Hon. Olowa stated, offering a sense of hope to the residents who have been worried about the ongoing damage caused by the flood.
The residents expressed their gratitude for the Chairman’s visit and his assurances.
They commended the current administration’s ongoing efforts, particularly the drainage channelization projects that have improved water flow in other parts of the LGA.
The community members also offered prayers for Hon. Olowa’s continued success in governance.
This visit highlights the Ibeju Lekki Local Government’s dedication to the well-being of its residents and the importance of prompt government response in tackling environmental challenges.
The anticipated intervention is expected to bring much-needed relief to Okegun-Elerangbe, restoring stability to the affected community.
