The scholarship winners are some of the participants in a weekend tutorial program organized by Ibeju lekki local government and PAU, which has effectively improved academic performance among local students.
This marks the first time six students from the program will receive scholarships to PAU.
Alongside the PAU scholarship, which covers 98% of tuition fees, the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government will cover the remaining 2%, ensuring that financial controls do not affect the students’ education.
The Council Chairman Hon Sesan Olowa appreciates PAU’s Board and Management for their support and encouraged the scholarship beneficiaries to make the most of this opportunity and inspire other students.
“Your support has made a significant difference in the lives of the students and the community at large”.
“To our scholarship beneficiaries, I urge you to make good use of this opportunity to its fullest and inspire your peers and community with your success”.
He also urged residents to prioritize education as a key tool in fighting poverty.
Mr. Adeyemi, a parent of one of the scholarship beneficiaries, commended the partnership, noting that such opportunities were once thought impossible.
He thanked both the local government and PAU for helping his son achieve his educational dreams.
Under the Regime of Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, Ibeju-Lekki Local Government remains committed to promoting educational and socio-economic development in the community.
The scholarship recipients are:
1. Adeyemi Joshua Akorede – Mechatronics Engineering
2. Joy Ugochi Samuel – Business Administration.
