IBILE Eko Summit Group To Host 2021 Parley In October
- IBILE Eko Summit Group is an indigenous organisation of passionate Lagosians.
A civic group, the Ibile Eko Summit Group is set to host its 2021 colloquium next month as part of efforts to sensitize the indigenous Lagosian society on strategies towards the socio-cultural advancement of the state.
The summit, entitled “Strategic Planning of Socio-Cultural Development of Lagos and Regional Agenda: An Indigenous Perspective” will hold on October 30, 2021 at Eko Club Surulere, Lagos.

Guest speakers to lecture at the summit will include Professor Fola Tayo, senior lecturer, Caleb University, Mr Supo Shashore, former Lagos State Attorney-General, Dr Olawale Lawal, senior lecturer at Lagos State University, Ojo while Professor Adele Jinadu will deliver a keynote address online.
According to the group, the essence of the Summit is to draw the attention of the major stakeholders in Lagos State and those at the helms of affairs to the need for Socio-Cultural, Economic and Political Development of Lagos indigenes and the State.
The target audience of the summit is the generality of the indigenous Lagosian society with a focal aim of proffering viable contributions towards the elevating the socio-cultural landscape of the State and conscientise the aboriginal Lagosians on the enduring potentials replete in the state’s socio-cultural framework.

IBILE Eko Summit Group is an indigenous organisation of passionate Lagosians, majorly concerned with the development and sustenance of Lagos state’s collective heritage. The group seeks to engender discourse that will chat the course for change that reinstates indigenous Lagosians in he position of responsibilities to develop the state.
The group believes that there is an urgent need to make Lagos state to work for Lagosians and the next generation of Lagosians. It also seeks to identify and ferret out the divide among the indigenes in the various divisions that is inimical to the common interest of Lagosians. The ultimate goal is to ensure that indigenes must play more roles in the affairs of the state.
Issues bordering on lack of infrastructural development or neglect, lack of employment of opportunities for youths, empowerment for women, disruptive market concerns arising from leadership imposition and high-handedness, demolition and displacement, discrimination in all spheres including politics, civil service, collective aspiration are also expected to be addressed during the summit.
