In a report filed in United Kingdom by Guardian, The General that is General Ibrahim Babangida was described as “a shrewd political player”.
Guardian paper then further went on that his past political dribbling of his opponents earned him the sobriquet ‘Maradona’.”
In an interview conducted with Chief Falae, the Ondo born statesman, he affirms that he enjoyed working with Maradona during his service days and he described The General turned Maradona as perhaps one of the best listeners he has ever worked with; you could speak with him for 2 hours, and he would not interrupt.
The Stateman further went on to say that the General understands issues very quickly and so polite and he would thank you for everything.
During the interview, The elder Statesman further went on to say that the only problem he had with him was that he never liked to say no to anybody, he tended to say yes to everybody.
And he concluded that this aforementioned reason is why the General is called Maradona. Apart from that, he’s one of the nicest persons to work for.”
