Iconic Centres Will Boost Tourism Upon Completion – LASG

Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Pharmacist (Mrs.) Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf has said that iconic cultural centres such as J.K. Randle Centre and Glover Memorial Hall as well as other tourism and entertainment sites under renovation and construction across the State would significantly boost Lagos tourism potentials after completion.

The Commissioner stated this during a working visit to some notable tourist attractions located within Lagos Island and its environs.

She stated that the tour was in line with the commitment of the State Government to take an assessment of the various ongoing projects in the tourism sector, revamp them and ensure an optimal use of the facilities.

Akinbile-Yusuf, in the company of the SA to the Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Solomon Bonu and some management staff, described the exercise as necessary in order to have accurate information on some of the tourism centres in Lagos State.

She expressed satisfaction with the pace of renovation and reconstruction work taking place at the Centres, urging contractors handling the various projects to maintain the pace of work and ensure timely completion of all projects.

The team had also visited tourism sites in Badagry and the Oregun Theatre among others.
