In an exclusive interview with Ekohotblog, Prince Bayo Apena, one of Alhaji Surakat’s sons, reflected on his father’s profound influence.

 

“If you are not truthful, then you can never be a friend to my father,” Prince Bayo stated, emphasizing his father’s strong stance on honesty.

He was a man who never wavered in his dedication to supporting his people, no matter the circumstances.”

 

Alhaji Surakat was further remembered as a devoutly religious man, with Prince Bayo sharing that his father was known for his prayerfulness and never took matters of faith lightly.

“Even though he lived a long life, his absence will be felt by all who knew him,” Mr. Alebiosu said.

 

“Alhaji Surakat never treated me like just an in-law; he welcomed me as his son, and this was true for all the spouses of his children.”

 

Mr. Alebiosu emphasized Alhaji Surakat’s love for family, urging his children to carry on their father’s legacy.

 

“Alhaji cherished family above all, and it’s important that his children continue the good work he started so that his legacy will live on.”

 

The event was graced by several prominent dignitaries, who joined the family in paying their respects to Alhaji Surakat.
