If You Kill Sunday Igboho, 1,000 Sunday Igboho Will Rise Up, Afenifere Warns FG

  • Afenifere was formed as a socio-cultural organization for the Yoruba people of Nigeria
  • The main aim of this group is to oversee the activities of Yoruba people all over the world.
  • Afenifere has sent a strong message after the Department States Service and the Nigerian police force attempted to arrest Sunday Igboho.

Afenifere responded to Friday’s chaotic situation when military, DSS and Nigeria police operatives allegedly made attempt to arrest Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho.

EKO HOT BLOG gathered that he was ambushed by security agencies along Ibadan/Lagos expressway while he was heading to towards Lagos state to meet Baba Ayo Adebanjo.

The arrest could not be achieved as it was intercepted by angry youths, and Sunday Igboho was also spotted in the video with shirt as he was guarded by his followers.

However, Kole Omololu, the Organising Secretary of Afenifere who disclosed this to newsmen during an interview said arresting Sunday Igboho will increase tension and insecurity in the region.

He said he don’t know the offence of Sunday Igboho that made him deserve this harrassment. He added that the only thing he did was self defence.

According to Omololu, he said in the following statement that:

“This time around, I don’t think it is going to work. If you kill Sunday Igboho, 1,000 Sunday Igboho will rise up.

They want to test the market with what they are doing, if nothing happens after Sunday Igboho, then they will continue. But I believe arresting Sunday Igboho is not good for Nigeria.”
