Executive Chairman of Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government, Hon Oloruntoba Oke, has reiterated the commitment of his administration to ensuring that youths within the LG are meaningfully engaged.
Toba Oke made this known while declaring open the Mainland Digital Marketing Training organised by his administration for the youths within Ifako-Ijaiye.
The sponsored practical base training took place at Miyaki Gardens, Olaniyi, with more than fifty participants.
He said, “Depopulating the labour market which is saturated is one of our objectives for setting up this initiative. We need to find creative ways to make the youths meaningfully engaged. We are on a campaign to ensure that the youths are self employed.
“Our objective is to ensure every beneficiary of the training should utilize the knowledge achieved today.”
The Chairman implored the participants to make the most use of the opportunity as white collar jobs are getting more difficult to come by.
“Every great thing starts small, so, I will advise you to take this program with the utmost importance. The computer gurus you see today and admire, also started from scratch.”
Toba Oke assured that his administration will come up with a second phase of the training which will involve empowering the participants. He also said that his administration will keep coming up with meaningful programmes that will affect the lives of the youths positively.
