Eko Hot Blog reports that a heartbreaking incident unfolded on the Iganmu-Apapa Expressway in Lagos.
A five-year-old girl, identified as Bosede, lost her life when a truck struck her while she was crossing the road with her mother.
According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, the accident occurred on Saturday around 11:30 a.m.
“The girl and her mother were crossing the expressway when the truck hit and crushed her head, killing her on the spot,” Hundeyin stated.
Moreover, Hundeyin revealed that the police received information about the tragic accident from the Iponri Police Division.
“The information about the accident was received by the Iponri Police Division on Saturday at about 11.30 a.m.,” he said.
Subsequently, the police traffic officers from the division visited the scene and removed Bosede’s body for burial by her family.
However, the driver of the truck fled the scene, prompting an ongoing investigation for their possible arrest.
