Youths of Igboelerin in Ojo area of Lagos State, on Sunday night, resisted a robbery attack when they subdued some suspected armed robbers that attempted to attack the community.
This is according to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi.
The statement reads partly: “The suspected armed robbers came on 2 unregistered bikes with the intention of attacking their targets before they were repelled by the youths who have been involved in the community policing strategies of the command.

“One unregistered operational bike and one locally made pistol with a life cartridge were recovered from them.”
The statement quoted the State’s Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, as commending the youths of the area for the manhunt and arrest of the fleeing armed robbers.
Odumosu encouraged Lagosians to embrace the idea of community-based policing which has recorded successes in many areas of the state.
