Ighalo Sets To Play His Last Match For Man Utd Against His Old Club

Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, held  his pre-match press conference ahead of Manchester United’s FA Cup clash with Watford.

During the briefing, the coach was asked about Odion Ighalo.

Ole said “Ighalo is due to return to China when his loan spell expires at the end of the month.

” He wasn’t in the squad for Wednesday night’s 2-0 loss against Manchester City but Solskjaer said he would be involved against his old club.

“He’s been training really well, he was the top scorer in round robin we just finished. He’s not lost any of his quality, it’s been difficult for him to be out of the squad as many times because he did really well up until the summer.

“This season he’s not had as many opportunities and not let himself down as a professional and a human being.

He’s always a positive influence in the dressing room. Hopefully I don’t need to put him on that we need goals, but hopefully he can join in.”

Ighalo said earlier this week that was hoping to play against his former employers.

It would be a nice way for him to end his United spell, if it proves to be his final outing in a red shirt.

A goal would be a fitting end to Ighalo’s time with United. He was never the ideal signing but he gave his all and showed how much he loves the club.

Tomorrow’s game represents an opportunity to kickstart United’s bid for another trophy, as Solskjaer’s search for his first piece of silverware in charge of the club.
