The Inspector General of Police Mohammed Adamu, has reinstated the commitment of the Nigerian Police Force to free and fair elections.
Adamu disclosed this on Saturday ahead of the gubernatorial poll scheduled for November 16, adding that, the police would not engage in partisan politics in the forthcoming gubernatorial polls in Bayelsa and Kogi state.
The IGP while speaking in Lafia at an event held in his honour by the Lafia Progressive Forum, noted that the police force would draw from its experiences from the 2019 general elections to ensure free, fair and credible elections in the two states.
He also stressed the readiness of the Police Force to support INEC in conducting a credible election.
Adamu however, expressed gratitude to the people of Lafia for the honor bestowed on him.
He said “There is nothing good than for one to be celebrated by his people at home. I will continue to be a good ambassador of my community by discharging my duties with sincerity and the fear of God.”
