IGP Visits Katsina, Assures Abductions Will Never Occur Again

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, has vowed that the Katsina school abduction will be the last of such incident in the state, Eko Hot Blog has learnt.

Adamu made the statement on Wednesday when he visited the Katsina State Police Command, exactly a week after students of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara were freed by their captors.

During the visit, the IGP met with tactical units, area commanders, DPOs, and Commanders of Operation Puff Adder in Katsina in a bid to ensure that the state is made a crime-free environment.

He mentioned that the responsibility of internal security lies with the Nigerian Police and as such, it won’t allow criminal activities any breeding space.

He said: “Recently we have seen an act of Banditry moving from the epicenter we used to know and were converging in Katsina state.

“We believe we must strategize with other stakeholders, citizens of the state, and cooperative partners like Miyetti Allah and other law enforcement agencies so that every nooks and cranny of the state are manned and not to allow any space for these criminals to operate whether in the morning, afternoon or night.”
