Super Eagles of Nigeria striker Kelechi Iheanacho has set a new record after netting a hat-trick for Brendan Rodgers led Leicester City football club of England on Sunday evening.
The former Manchester City football club of England star who has been impressive for the Foxes in their last three games put on another excellent performance against Sheffield United, as he netted a hat-trick in his team’s deserved home victory.
The Nigerian international was given a starting role in his team’s attack alongside England star Jamie Vardy, and the duo were very excellent for the home team in the encounter.
Kelechi Iheanacho opened scoring for Leicester City in the 39th minutes, after receiving an assist from Jamie Vardy, to end the first half 1-0.
Spanish star Ayoze Perez doubled the lead in the 64th minutes, and Kelechi Iheanacho scored his brace in the 69th minutes to make it 3-0, before the Nigerian completed his hat-trick in the 78th minutes through a fine assist from his compatriot Wilfred Oyinye Ndidi.
Chelsea Academy product Ethan Ampadu scored an own goal in the 80th minutes to end the match 5-0 in favour of Brendan Rodgers’ men.

The 5-0 victory over Sheffield United has now taken Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City to the second spot in the English Premier League table with 56 points from 29 matches played.
