Ikorodu Mourns as Alhaji Lukman Erogbogbo Dies at 75

The Ikorodu community in Lagos is in a state of mourning as the Erogbogbo family announced the passing of one of the illustrious sons of the community, Alhaji (Chief) Apase, Engr. Lukman Ishola Oladimeji Erogbogbo.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Alhaji Erogbogbo, a respected community leader and philanthropist, passed away on September 16, 2024, at the age of 75.

He was a seasoned administrator, having served with distinction as a top management staff member at PZ Industries, where he retired after many years of dedicated service.

Known for his generosity and commitment to community development, he was an icon in the Ikorodu community, leaving behind a legacy of service and leadership.

A statement signed behalf of the family by the deceased daughter, Mrs. Bimbo Lawal (née Erogbogbo), said the funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, September 17, 2024, and will be held in accordance with Islamic rites.
Mrs Lawal in a moving tribute, described her father as a role model and community builder.

She said, “My father was more than just a parent; he was my guide, my role model, and my greatest inspiration. Alhaji Lukman Ishola Oladimeji Erogbogbo embodied strength, wisdom, and compassion, always putting the needs of others before his own.

“Growing up under his nurturing care, I witnessed firsthand his deep commitment to community service and his belief in giving back. He was a man of quiet but powerful influence, touching the lives of many with his generosity and kindness.

“Even in his final days, he remained a pillar of strength for all of us, offering words of wisdom and comfort. As we lay him to rest, I take solace in knowing that his legacy of love and service will continue to live through the lives he touched.”

She extends their gratitude to all well-wishers during this period of mourning.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jumoke Erogbogbo, his children, and grandchildren.
