Ekohotblog reports that the Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, Otunba Wale Raji Anomo, has demonstrated his commitment to community development by personally operating an asphalt roller during the ongoing construction of Samson Adeniyi Street in Agbowa.
The Chairman, accompanied by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Jayesinmi Abiodun, and the Supervisor for Works, Hon. Yusuf Babatunde, inspected the final stages of the project, which began on October 10, 2024.
The road is expected to be completed before Christmas, fulfilling the Chairman’s promise to the people of Agbowa.
“This road is very important to our community. It connects key locations such as Agbowa General Hospital, the Magistrate Court, Methodist Primary School, and the Police Station,” Otunba Anomo said during a site visit.
“We are committed to improving the lives of our people through meaningful projects like this.”
Before construction began, Samson Adeniyi Street was in a deplorable condition, causing significant challenges for residents and commuters.
The project includes durable asphalt paving and well-designed drainage systems to ensure the road’s longevity and resilience.
Residents have expressed their satisfaction with the progress.
“This road has been a problem for years,” said Mrs. Bukola, a local resident. “It’s good to see a leader who listens and takes action.”
Another resident, Mr. Akinwunmi Olayemi, commended the Chairman’s hands-on involvement.
“Watching him operate the asphalt roller shows he truly cares about our community,” he said.
The road will be officially inaugurated soon, along with other projects in the area. “We are building a brighter future for Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA,” Otunba Anomo added.
“We want everyone to benefit from our efforts to develop the community.”
