Eko Hot Blog reports that Akogun Wale Anomo, the Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA), on Thursday, initiated palliative measures to alleviate the challenges faced by commuters on the Agbowa section of the Ikorodu/Itoikin road, Ikosi-Ejinrin, Epe Division, Lagos State.
According to a statement issued by the Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA chairman’s spokesperson, Areh AbdulHamid O., on Friday, Anomo led the palliative works in company of his Vice, Alhaji Wasiu Dehinsilu and Supervisor for Works, Hon. Yusuf Babatunde.
He acknowledged and applauded the youth of Agbowa-Ikosi who turned out in significant numbers to support the workers involved in the palliative measures.
“Their resilience, patriotism, and maturity throughout the road’s challenging conditions earned high praise from the Chairman,” the statement reads in part.
Seizing the opportunity, Anomo informed the local youth about the ongoing collaboration between distinguished Senator Tokunbo Abiru, Member House of Representatives Hon. Tasir Wale Raji, and the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to expedite the commencement of road repair work by the contractor.
The Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA chairman assured the community that full-scale construction would commence shortly.
In the interim, both the Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA and the Lagos State government are dedicated to providing palliative measures to ensure a smoother flow of traffic, Anomo said.
The youth expressed their gratitude to Chairman Anomo and Sanwo-Olu for their unwavering dedication and urged them to expedite the process, as the road’s condition continues to deteriorate.
This collaborative effort between local, state, and federal government levels underscores the APC-led government’s commitment to improving the living conditions of Nigerians, particularly regarding road accessibility.
