The discussions centered on implementing enhanced surveillance strategies across communities to curb vandalism and other criminal activities.

During the session, Otunba Anomo emphasized the urgent need for vigilance and proactive measures to secure the LCDA’s neighborhoods and public assets.

“This festive season is a time of joy, but we must remain cautious.

Our communities and critical public infrastructure, such as electric poles and aluminum conductors, must be protected at all costs,” he stated.

The Chairman expressed strong condemnation of the increasing cases of vandalism targeting public infrastructure, particularly electricity cables.

“The persistent sabotage of our electricity supply by vandals is unacceptable and must stop.

These actions jeopardize the development and well-being of our people.

I urge all security personnel to intensify their efforts to apprehend those responsible and prevent further occurrences,” he added.

Otunba Anomo also made a promise that the council will continue to support the security teams and improve welfare and the provision of necessary incentives to enhance their efficiency.

“We recognize the dedication of our local security teams, and we are committed to equipping you with the resources you need to carry out your duties effectively,” he assured.

Speaking at the meeting, a representative of the Gbalule Vigilante Group thanked the Chairman for his support and proactive approach.

“This meeting demonstrates the Chairman’s dedication to community safety.

With his guidance and promised support, we are confident that we can achieve a safer environment for all,” he said.
