Ekohotblog reports that the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government Administration, Chieftaincy, and Rural Development visited Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA) on Monday, October 28, 2024, to inspect the use of public funds for community projects and services.
The visit was led by Hon. Sanni Ganiyu Babatunde Okanlawon and other committee members.
They were warmly welcomed by the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, Otunba-Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, the Executive Cabinet, members of the legislative council, and the management team.
The purpose of the visit was to ensure that local government funds are being used effectively to benefit residents.
During the visit, a detailed report on the LCDA’s projects was presented to the committee, and they were also taken on a tour of various project sites to observe improvements in areas like infrastructure, education, healthcare, and staff welfare.
Hon. Okanlawon applauded the Chairman’s efforts, saying, “Our visit here today is to see how resources have been properly used. This is part of our duty to ensure funds are wisely spent.
This will be the 53rd council we’ve visited, and I must say, the Chairman has done exceptionally well. There are councils with more resources that have achieved less.”
Otunba-Akogun Anomo thanked them for the visit and the encouragement, saying, “We appreciate your guidance and support. This motivates us to keep pushing for progress and serve our community even better. We will take your recommendations to heart and make sure we continue to deliver positive results.”
Also in attendance to welcome the committee were Vice Chairman Wasiu Oluwole Dehinsilu, Leader of the Legislative Council Hon. Hassan Mustapha Owolabi, Council Manager Mr. Awobajo Sunday, and other officials.
