Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA Launches ‘JIGI ANOMO’ Initiative At 6th Medical Mission
By Oluwadamilola Opeoluwa Pitan
Eko Hot Blog reports that, in a bid to enhance the health and well-being of its residents, the Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has unveiled the JIGI ANOMO ALAFIA TAYO Initiative during its 6th Medical Mission.
Held at the LCDA Secretariat in Agbowa, the programme is poised to offer comprehensive eye care services in collaboration with the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).
The LCDA Chairman Akogun Wale Raji Anomo underscored the significance of routine health check-ups and early detection of illnesses.
He stressed the pivotal role of good eyesight, citing the Yoruba adage “Ojuloba ara” (the eyes are the king of the body) to highlight its importance.
Residents were provided with a range of health assessments during the event, including eye screenings, blood pressure evaluations, and blood sugar tests.
Individuals diagnosed with eye-related conditions were supplied with medicated eyeglasses, while those with severe cases were promptly referred for surgical intervention, with all associated costs covered by the council.
Continuing the initiative’s momentum, tomorrow’s proceedings will unfold at the Ejinrin Community Primary Healthcare Centre.
Here, residents can avail themselves of a diverse array of complimentary health services, including specialized eye treatments, surgical interventions, dietary and nutritional guidance, and screenings for tuberculosis.
This concerted effort is poised to catalyze a transformative shift in the health landscape of the community, ensuring greater access to essential healthcare resources for all its inhabitants.
