Eko Hot Blog reports that the All Progressives Congress (APC) secured victory in the governorship and house of assembly polls in the polling unit of the former Speaker of the Lagos House of Assembly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji.
Earlier on Saturday, Ikuforiji, who was Lagos assembly speaker from 2005-2015, joined other voters in Epe Ward A4, Polling Unit 003, to cast his votes.
By the time the results were collated in the unit, the former speaker’s party, the APC secured landslide victories in the governorship and legislative polls.
The APC polled 136 votes to defeat the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), which scored 16 votes, and the Labour Party (LP) and other parties that failed to score a single vote.
In the house of assembly poll, the APC secured 135 votes, with the PDP scoring 17.
Ikuforiji congratulated Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat on their expected reelection victories.
The former speaker also congratulated the lawmaker representing Epe Constituency I at the Lagos House of Assembly, Hon. Abiodun Tobun and lawmaker representing Epe Constituency II at the Lagos House of Assembly, Hon. Sylvester Ogunkelu, popularly known as Sketel, who are heavily favoured to secure their reelection bids.
The APC is hoping to retain Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s seat and control of the state assembly.
