Eko Hot Blog reports that exciting times are here for the Ilara community of Epe, Lagos State.
This is in the wake of the commissioning of a block of six classrooms and a fully equipped library at the Ilara Model Primary School, Ilara, Epe, Lagos, on Monday, June 26, 2023.
The project was made possible through the donation and collaboration of the Chairman/Founder of the Address Homes Limited, Dr Bisi Onasanya, the Rotary Club of Lagos, Bowen College and the Bank of Industry.
The block of six classrooms and fully equipped library were commissioned by the Royal Father of the day, His Royal Majesty, Oba Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, the Alara of Ilara, Epe Kingdom.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Royal Father of the Day, Oba Ogunsanwo recalled how upon his ascension to the throne, one of his primary goals was to make education a bedrock for further development.
He laid emphasis on the wise saying that goes thus, “when you train a child, you are educating a nation.”
The Royal Father gave all thanks to God for the successful completion and commissioning of the project, and further thanked the generous donors who had made his hope of facilitating education in his community possible.
Eko Hot Blog reports that one of the major highlights of the day was the installation of chieftaincy titles on the outgoing Rotary Club of Lagos president, Joseph Aikhigbe as the Bobajiro of Ilara Kingdom and on Address Homes Chairman, Dr Onasanya as the Akinrogun of Ilara Kingdom.
The project commissioning was studded by many royal fathers within Epe and beyond.
Other dignitaries at the ceremony included the event’s Chief Host and President, Rotary Club of Lagos, Rtn. Joseph Akhigbe, while the Host was Rtn. Omotunde Lawson, Rotary Club District Governor; the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Abayomi Abolaji, and the Chairman of Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board, LASUBEB, Wahab Olawale Alawiye-King.
