“He’ll have a lot of demons playing on his mind. Who knows if people are talking him into it; I don’t know. I know from my side I’m ready to go out there and show the world that I’m the king,” he said.
If not Joshua, the 27-year-old will aim to avenge his loss to Oleksandr Usyk, provided the Ukrainian defeats Tyson Fury in their December rematch.
“That’s unfinished business. I want to get that one right. I want to do it properly and finish him. It will be a good fight, a unification fight; that’s massive.”
Last month, Anthony Joshua’s hopes of becoming a three-time world champion were dashed in a stunning upset at Wembley Stadium, where Daniel Dubois floored him multiple times before delivering a decisive right hand in Round 5. The knockout, witnessed by 98,000 fans, handed Joshua his fourth career loss and sent shockwaves through the boxing community, with some pundits questioning his future in the sport.

Joshua, however, swiftly dispelled retirement rumours, vowing to fight on. His promoter, Eddie Hearn, confirmed that the rematch between Joshua and Dubois will be staged in Saudi Arabia during the Riyadh Season, an entertainment and sports festival running from October to March.
Turki Alalshikh, chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, hinted that the bout is tentatively scheduled for February.
Dubois, who previously fought Oleksandr Usyk in August 2023, thought he had knocked down the Ukrainian with a body shot, but it was ruled a low blow. Usyk later secured victory with a stoppage in the ninth round.
As for Joshua, he’s aiming to get his career back on track and reclaim a world title, while recently naming a heavyweight opponent he claims to have “ruined with one punch.”
