EKO HOT BLOG reports that popular Nigerian comedian, Oluwaseyitan Aletile, known as Seyi Law, has apologized to supporters of opposition parties who he may have offended during his campaign for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Seyi Law’s apology came after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Tinubu the winner of the presidential election held on Saturday.
In a post shared on his Instagram page on Wednesday, Seyi Law expressed his happiness about how passionate Nigerians are towards their preferred candidates, stating that bitterness and hatred towards one another should not have a place in Nigeria. He urged Nigerians to be tolerant of one another’s views and opinions.
The comedian also noted that people may not always agree with his views, but that doesn’t mean he is right and they are wrong, as everyone is entitled to their opinions.
He apologized to those who may have been offended by his support for the APC candidate and condemned the violence that has occurred across Nigeria following the election.
Seyi Law said he had mixed feelings about the anger of those who did not support his candidate, but he hoped that Nigerians’ lives would get better in the future. The comedian’s apology comes amid tensions and controversy surrounding the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria.
