I’m Unfazed By Death Threats Says WHO DG
Director- General of World Health Organization , Doctor Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus says name calling , insults and racists comments on him will not affect his functionality or his balance, as he says he turns a cold shoulder to these derogatory remarks from some people.
Tedros was noted saying this in a video obtained by Ekohotblog from @DoctorYasmiin twitter handle, where he said, “I can tell you personal attacks that have been going on for more than 2-3 months. Abuses or racist comments, giving me names…even death threats. I don’t give a damn.”
Meanwhile, Doctor Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has urged politicians not to use the COVID-19 pandemic to score political points, it will only cause more deaths.
Terri’s stated this after President Trump criticized the WHO and its relationship with China.
“Please don’t politicize this virus, the focus of all political parties should be to save their people,”
Tedros urged unity, the WHO chief cited the historic joint effort by the U.S. and the Soviet Union to fight smallpox during the Cold War as an example.
“The former U.S.S.R. and United States came together and agreed to eradicate smallpox and brought the whole world together with them,” Tedros said.
At the time of that cooperation in the 1960s, he noted, smallpox was killing 2 million people each year and infecting 15 million annually.
“The world could not tolerate that kind of disaster,” Tedros said.
