Addressing journalists after the prayers, Sheikh Adam explained that the gathering formed part of a nationwide initiative known as National Prayer for Peace, Unity and Divine Guidance, aimed at seeking Allah’s intervention in Nigeria’s affairs at a critical moment in the nation’s history.
He noted that the country is at a crossroads where purposeful leadership, collective responsibility, and divine direction are essential to overcoming insecurity, economic strain, and social tensions.

Sheikh Adam said prayers were deliberately offered for President Tinubu and Governor Namadi, stressing that strong leadership at both federal and state levels plays a decisive role in improving security and advancing social development.
He further disclosed that the prayer programme, which commenced in Kano State on January 15, 2026, is being observed across the nineteen northern states, with the participation of Islamic scholars, traditional rulers, and civil society stakeholders. Jigawa State, he said, hosted the session on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
The association also appealed to Nigerians of all faiths to continually pray for national healing, unity, and lasting peace, particularly in communities affected by conflict and insecurity.

Speaking at the event, the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Mohammed Hamim Nuhu, urged Islamic scholars to intensify sermons promoting peace and unity, describing them as the foundation of meaningful development.
He cautioned Muslims against making negative remarks about leaders, reminding them that such conduct is forbidden, and encouraged citizens to remain prayerful and constructive in their engagement with leadership.
